Daughter of Mr Martin Amidu, Hagar Amidu, has described statement made by Mahama Ayariga, Bawku Central MP on Joy News channel PM Express hosted by Evan Mensah, as untrue.

In the interview, Ayariga said that he drove the daughter of Martin Amidu in his car to the Upper East Region of Ghana. However, in clarifying the said statement by the Bawku MP, Hagar Amidu called in to joy fm evening news when part of the interview was played and stated emphatically that she has never sat in the car of the Bawku MP to anywhere.

Moreover, Ayariga said he speaks with Hagar all the time on phone as both calls each other regularly but Hagar denied this and stated that they only have “hi hi” relationship even though they have lived together like brother and sister.

Hagar was asked by the news reader if she was the only daughter of Mr Amidu. She answered by saying that she was the only child in Ghana and lives in the Upper East so by inference, the Bawku MP was referring to her.

Mr Ayariga who has been referred to by Martin Amidu, the Special Prosecutor, as a son, has been battling in court for alleged fraudulent tax invasion on imported vehicles.
