The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has withdrawn from the Ayawaso-Wuogon by-election citing alleged shooting of their officials on the grounds of the election.
Confirmed reports from the Legon hospital is that at least 6 people have sustained various degrees of wounds from the alleged shooting where one has been transfered to the 37 Military hospital.
The Chairman of NDC, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has confirmed the withdrawal. He said the reason of the withdrawal is that their candidate is virtually under house arrest as his house is surrounded by ‘machomen’ with guns and other offensive weapons.
All the polling agents by the withdrawal have left the election grounds.
